Cool, clear and quieterBy the end of November the rains are well behind us. Mornings in the hills are cool and misty, afternoons are clear, and the evenings are good for sitting out on the terrace. Wayanad hasn't hit its December peak yet, so the viewpoints and waterfalls are calmer.

Getting here
Bangalore: roughly 320 km · Mysore: roughly 175 kmLeave Bangalore early on Friday and take NH766 through Mysore, Gundlupet and Bandipur into Wayanad, then down the Thamarassery ghat to us. Three easy days
Waterfalls, viewpoints and the seaFriday: Arrive by evening and watch the sun go down over the valley from the terrace. Saturday: An early start for Thusharagiri Falls, then Amarad Waterfalls 9 km from the house, and a lazy afternoon back at the villa. Sunday: Drive up the ghat to Lakkidi View Point on your way home, or go down to Kozhikode for a biriyani lunch and the beach. Our beach guide covers the best ones.

Carrom, karaoke and a loft sleepoverThe house is as good for staying in as going out. There's a carrom board in the games nook, a Bluetooth speaker for music, a swing, and The Majlis loft for a floor sleepover. The kitchen is yours to use, with a fridge, kettle and sandwich maker.
